Marion Boyce is an internationally acclaimed costume designer whose work spans film, television, and exhibition design in Australia and abroad. Recognised for her ability to transform garments into storytelling devices, Marion brings texture, colour, and period authenticity to each project, infusing costume with character and narrative depth.

In 2025, Marion received the AACTA Award for Best Costume Design in Television for Ladies in Black.

Her previous accolades include:

  • 2021 AACTA nomination for The Newsreader (Best Costume Design in Television)

  • 2017 nomination for the 19th Costume Designers Guild Award (Excellence in Period Film) for The Dressmaker

  • 2016 nominations from the San Diego Film Critics Society and Online Film & Television Association (OFTA) for The Dressmaker

  • 2015 AACTA Award for Best Costume Design on a Feature Film for The Dressmaker and a nomination for Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries (Series 3)

Marion’s extensive screen credits include the television series Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries (Series 1–3), The Newsreader, The Hollowmen, The Gloaming, Nightmares and Dreamscapes, and The Starter Wife.

Her feature film credits include The Dressmaker, Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles, Joey, Zeus and Roxanne, and Dangerous Animals (2024). She has also designed for television movies including Hercules, Salem’s Lot, The Echo of Thunder, Noah’s Ark, and Moby Dick.

Recent projects include The Artful Dodger (Season 2), Ladies in Black (2023), Run Rabbit Run for Carver Films, Nautilus for Disney (Episodes 8–10), and the ABC/FremantleMedia productions The Newsreader and Barons.

Beyond the screen, Marion has designed and curated numerous exhibitions, including Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries (Series 2 and 3) and The Dressmaker exhibition, both of which toured nationally to wide acclaim. She also curated The Age of Elegance for the National Trust of South Australia and The Bowerbird and the Bride, an exhibition drawn from her private collection that toured regional Australia.
